Steps to planning your National Park Elopement
- Choose your park!
- Hire an experienced elopement photographer (most elopement photographers help with planning and logistics and can guide you on the permit process and choosing the best location for your ceremony)
- Decide on who is coming or if you are doing a just you 2 adventure!
- Apply for your permit
- Book lodging, plane tickets (if applicable), finalize all the details, book additional vendors if needed.
- And finally, HAVE THE BEST DAY EVER!

Yosemite National Park has towering granite walls and cliffs, amazing views, and golden fields. The views that Yosemite has, are hard to beat. With a variety of scenery you also have options for photo background on your special day. Located in the remote Eastern Sierras of California, this National Park is popular and one of the best places to get married, and for good reason.
When is the Best Time of Year to get married in Yosemite?
Fall- I always like to recommend fall for your Yosemite elopement. September and October are great months in the park. It is technically a shoulder season, which means less people, and the weather is comfortable.

- Glacier Point– easy access for a once in a lifetime view. Glacier Point is not a hike, you can walk to it closely from the parking lot. Can explore surrounding areas. Can accommodate 50 people maximum (including vendors).
- Taft Point– short 2.3 mile hike to a epic and dramatic viewpoint. Can accommodate up to 11 guests (including vendors).
- Swinging Bridge Picnic Area– beautiful designated ceremony location in the Valley. Can accommodate up to 20 guests (including vendors).

Late spring to early fall- anytime in between would be a great time to elope in the park. Honestly Olympic National Park is one of the best parks in terms of weather, it is accessible all year round.

- Lake Crescent– easy access elopement location. Also a great central location to some hikes. Makes a beautiful background to your ceremony.
- Ruby Beach– beach with beautiful sunsets, sea stacks, and driftwood.
- Hoh Rainforest– magical fairytale rainforest. This location has the dramatic forest vibes and also a short trail. I always like to recommend a sunrise ceremony to avoid crowds for this location. (Closed due to road repair until further notice, but there are still other hidden rainforest gems in the park if that’s the vibe you are going for.)

Grand Teton National Park
A Grand Teton National Park wedding in Wyoming is sure to make all your Wild West dreams come true. Wide open sage brush meadows, jagged and dramatic mountain peaks, jaw dropping views, and alpine lakes make up the Grand Tetons. Jackson Hole is also not too far outside of the park and is fun to visit too on your elopement or wedding day. There are also a lot of outdoor activities to enjoy here.

Summer and Fall, both for different reasons- Summer because all of the trails are open and wildflowers are blooming. Fall because of the fall colors and comfortable weather temperatures.

Spring, April & May. Fall September & October- Visitation is slower in both of these seasons and also weather is comfortable.
