Why They Chose a Jackson Hole Elopement
Sydney and Jackson traveled in from Ohio with their closest family and friends to get married in the Tetons. They chose Grand Teton National Park because of their love for mountains and how the symbolism of mountains and overcoming had a lot to do with their relationship itself. They both appreciate the outdoors and really wanted to lean into a Full-Day Jackson Hole Elopement experience. So from sunrise to sunset we explored this little gem of Wyoming and made their day uniquely theirs.

What a Full Day Jackson Hole Elopement Timeline Can Look Like
A lot of couples question what you can do in a full day elopement. And the truth is you can make the day however you’d like! For Sydney and Jackson they really liked the idea of including a sunrise ceremony, a hike, time with family, a late night celebration, and some photos at the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar to wrap up the day.
A Real Grand Teton Elopement Timeline Example
Enclosed below is the timeline used on their elopement day. Timelines are meant to help keep things organized and on track, so that you can relax and be in the moment not wondering drive time between locations or if you are on track to be at your desired location for sunset. I draft up a timeline for all the couples I work with. It is meant to be a relaxed guideline to help you know that you are in good hands and to feel organized.
6:50 AM- Meet at ceremony spot to get ready for ceremony
Sunrise: 7:01 AM
7:15 AM- Ceremony
7:35 AM- Photos with family, couples portraits at the base of the Teton range
8:45 AM- Head to start hike
9:30 AM- Begin hike
10:15 AM- Arrive at lake, explore, hang with family
11:15 AM- Hike back down & head to turnout
12:00 PM- Photos at turnout & break for lunch!
(They chose the full day package with an option to split between sunrise & sunset. This package is great if you love the idea of having a break in the middle of your day!)
6:00 PM- Meet up in Jackson at the Virginian for drinks and celebration
7:36 PM: Sunset
8:00 PM- Head into Town Square for exploring & the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar!
9:00 PM- Photography coverage ends! Celebrate as newlyweds!

Sunrise Ceremony in Grand Teton National Park
On the morning of their elopement day it was moody, foggy, cloudy, and just stopped raining the night prior. The clouds wrapped the mountains and the setting for their ceremony was so beautiful and truly such a surprise. They chose to have a family member officiate their ceremony – which is super easy to do by the way! The process to get ordained to officiate a ceremony in Wyoming is fairly simple! If we work together and this is something you are interested in, I’d be happy to walk you through the process.
Wedding Portraits at the Base of the Teton Range
Following their ceremony, they wanted to have some family photos and following that, they took some time for themselves to enjoy the golden sun of the morning. The sunrise was moody, but following the sky lit up and the clouds started to disperse and it made for the most stunning morning light.
Afternoon Hike to Taggart Lake
Taggart Lake is a moderate hike that is suitable for your elopement day if you are looking to have some adventure. This hike is not too long or strenuous and the reward is beautiful views.
Jackson Hole Elopement Photos at Glacier View Turnout
Sydney had sent me some inspiration photos during the planning process that she came across and really loved. So we decided to include the spot that the photos were taken and to really lean into the Western vibe. By this time the sun was shining bright and the clouds had went away. How lucky to experience the variety of different weather in their Full Day Jackson Hole Elopement!
Elopement Celebration at The Virginian in Jackson, Wyoming
One thing that was important to them was celebrating and including their family. The Virginian Saloon was the perfect spot for this. The staff was super friendly and the bar wasn’t crowded at all. They gathered around a bonfire set and had lots of good conversations, laughs, and watched the sunset.
Ending Their Night at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson
What says Jackson more than the iconic and famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar? Of course we had to include a stop here. It was packed and there were people playing pool, dancing, saying cheers!, and all the things- but we took our time both inside and outside to just take everything in. It was the perfect ending to their Full Day Jackson Hole elopement. They included all of the things they wanted, sunrise, sunset, family, nature, adventure, a hike, and celebration! This is an example of what a full day of experience can look like.
