Spring is one of the best months to elope in Virginia’s mountains. The leaves are starting to color the mountains and hills, wildflowers are blooming, weather is comfortable. This season in the mountains is gorgeous. For this sunrise Shenandoah National Park Elopement in the spring, we took to the trail. Ginny and David wanted to bring along their pup for the adventure. Shenandoah Wedding Locations
We decided on Blackrock Summit for it’s easy and short hike. This hike is easy, but to get to the actual summit there is a little bit of a rock scramble. There are a lot of beautiful Shenandoah wedding locations inside the park for your ceremony. Elope Shenandoah National Park
We met at the trailhead at sunrise, the wind was blowing and we were eager to make our trek to the summit. This hike is short and easy and we were excited to see the sun come up over the mountains and celebrate their special moment.







Shenandoah Mountain Elopement
This specific location has a few areas to explore once you reach the top. The trail continues around the summit to a viewpoint, and wooded area. This is great to allow for some variety in the landscape and backdrop of your photos while also giving you some room to explore. We decided on a small overlook for their vow exchange so that their dog, Jackson, could stay nearby.












Shenandoah Mountain Elopement
After their sweet and intimate vow exchange, we took to the summit for some epic pictures of them and the view. It was windy and thrilling and such an adventure. The vibe of this morning was the perfect start to Ginny and David’s adventurous elopement day.







Shenandoah Elopement
After their summit adventure and private vow exchange. We hiked back down to the trailhead for some celebratory s’mores. Whatever you envision on your elopement day, there is no rulebook. Let your imagination run wild. This was only the start to their day exploring Shenandoah.
